Summer Outreach: Provided available funding and location, Mosaic School will offer a free or subsidized 4 weeks summer outreach program to its students. This intensive academic summer session d.b.a. “summer outreach,” is dubbed an outreach, because it will be held at one of our partnering universities. During this summer program, students will participate in academic and enrichment activities as well as becoming acclimated to the schools values and expectations. In addition, students will receive an overview of the school’s policies and procedures. During this period, students will be paired with mentors and introduced to their teachers. Teachers will take time during the summer program to administer diagnostic tests aligned with the Common Core Standards, in order to determine our students’ baseline skills and knowledge. Teachers will also meet with parents in order to get acquainted, and learn of any additional educational needs, to include but is not limited to: assistance with class room supplies, uniforms, additional homework assistance. In order to test all students during the outreach period, students not attending the outreach will be mailed a testing date and time.
